PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course
Continuing your underwater adventures.
Learn about your new adventures through PADI's eLearning.
Optional Pool dives if you need more practise.
Explore the ocean through 5 adventure dives in the open water.
You do not have to be “advanced” to take the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course. It is designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through 5 different Adventure Dives, including diving deeper and navigating your way around underwater. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.
Get credit! Each Adventure Dive may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver Course (hyperlink to Specialty Course page). If you’re already an Adventure Diver, you only need to complete two more Adventure Dives to earn the Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

STEP 1 Academic:
Learn about seven of the most popular Adventures Dives – including the required Deep and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dives, plus Boat, Night, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist and Wreck Adventure Dives. You study at your own pace through an easy to use, interactive program. You also have access to an online version of the Advanced Open Water Diver manual and can complete sections for other Adventure Dives as directed by your PADI Instructor. A total estimated time of 8 hours is required, including completion of all knowledge reviews. Our PADI 5 Star Dive Center is known is SS Scuba Pte Ltd.
STEP 2 Confined Water Dives (otherwise known as Pool Training):
Confined water dives are optional in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course. During this pool session, we will be going through some skills that you have learnt in your PADI Open Water Diver Course (eg. Being neutrally buoyant, neutral buoyancy swim, reciprocal compass navigation and SMB deployment). We will prepare you for your open water dives by introducing you to new skills like natural navigation and compass navigation using the square pattern. Our pool training is typically done on a Saturday. However, you can also contact us to arrange for other days if you prefer. Price varies based on the number of students. Sign up here!
There will be a re-scheduling fee of SGD 60 per person per session for any changes to any lessons after confirmation of schedule.
If any students would like to have additional pool lessons, the charges are SGD 180 per person per session (one to one) and SGD 150 per person session (two or more in class).
STEP 3 Open Water Training:
After completing your eLearning, you will make five Adventure Dives: a deep dive (beyond 18m), a navigation dive, and three additional Adventure Dives of your choice to earn your certification. You will find that the dives have lesser skills compared to your PADI Open Water Diver Course and have a lot more exploration. So you will definitely be having a lot more fun! Sign up here!
