Description

Scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they have ever taken. This is because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water. This process gives you more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed. During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practicing problem solving skills until they become second nature. Plus, the course is fun. It is serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the focused learning. That is why we call it Serious Fun!

STEP 2 Confined Water Dives (otherwise known as Pool Training):
Confined water dives are optional in the PADI Rescue Diver Course. However, we make it compulsory for all our students as we find this is the best way to learn and master the skills. During this pool session, we will be going through some self-rescue skills that you have learnt in your PADI Open Water Diver Course (cramp removal, establishing buoyancy on surface, airway control, use of an alternate air source, overcoming vertigo and re-establishing sense of direction).

You will then learn and master 10 rescue skills. These 10 rescue skills will be critical towards your management of the 2 rescue scenarios in open water. Our pool training is typically done on a Sunday. However, you can also contact us to arrange for other days if you prefer. Price varies based on the number of students.. Sign up here!

Course Pricing:

Notes:

  • There will be a re-scheduling fee of SGD 60 per person per session for any changes to any lessons after confirmation of schedule.

  • If any students would like to have additional pool lessons, the charges are SGD 180 per person per session (one to one) and SGD 150 per person session (two or more in class).

STEP 3 Open Water Training:

After completing your pool session, you will spend 2 days in the open water. You will first demonstrate the self-rescue skills that you have practised in the pool followed by the 10 rescue exercises. After that, there will be 2 rescue scenarios where you will learn to work as a team to:

  • Recognise and manage stress in other divers

  • Emergency management and equipment

  • Rescuing panicked divers

  • Rescuing unresponsive divers

You will not have much time to explore the dive site and will be very much focus on solving problems. Hence, we typically only offer the PADI Rescue Diver Course in Singapore waters.

Prices are exclusive of:
  • Emergency First Response Primary & Secondary Care: from SGD 160

  • PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty diver course: from SGD 160

  • Meals & drinks

Optional Upgrade:

You may also sign up for the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty diver course together with the PADI Rescue Diver Course.

Note:

  • Open Water fee includes 4 open water dives in local waters over 2 days, equipment rental and instructor fee
